About Ed

I didn’t plan on doing this work.

In college, I was on track to become a neuroscientist, captivated by the inner workings of the brain, and I envisioned a future in research, lab coats, and academic journals. But everything shifted one summer between my sophomore and junior year. I was holding the receiver of an old rotary phone, dialing the number to decline a job offer at a halfway house for adults facing severe mental health and addiction struggles. I dialed the first six digits, started on the seventh… and stopped. Something in me whispered, “This matters. Take the job.” It wasn’t loud. It wasn’t logical. But it was true. I hung up the phone - and took the job. That moment changed the course of my life - from studying brains to sitting with souls, from analyzing behavior to helping people remember who they really are.

I’ve never looked back.

The Journey Since Then

That one decision opened the door to over 30 years of walking beside people through some of life’s most defining thresholds. I’ve worked in nearly every corner of the mental health world - hospitals, residential treatment, community-based programs, and private practice.

I’ve taught Gestalt therapy at the graduate level, held leadership roles, and supported thousands of clients navigating everything from anxiety and broken trust to spiritual awakening and identity shifts.

But through it all, my approach has remained the same:

To be fully present. To listen deeply. To offer support with both soul and strategy.

My wife and I got married in 1993, and within five years, we had four kids - a family built on laughter, chaos, and fierce love. Through marriage, parenting, and decades of personal growth, I’ve lived this work. I’ve come to believe that healing and transformation aren’t just possible - they’re inevitable when we are seen, supported, and willing to take the next right step.

What I Offer Now: Concierge Therapeutic Coaching

Today, I work as a Concierge Therapeutic Coach - blending the depth and rigor of my 30 years as a licensed therapist with the flexible, responsive, real-life partnership of a coaching model. This isn’t a weekly check-in. It’s a real relationship - designed to meet you in the moments that matter most. Whether you’re navigating grief, moving through a major transition, disentangling from old patterns, or stepping into a new chapter - I offer a grounded, high-touch container to support you with presence and truth. You’ll be met with warmth, clarity, and respectful challenge - never pushed, never coddled. My role is to help you reclaim your voice, clarify what matters most, and move forward with integrity, courage, and meaning.

An Integrative Approach - Rooted in Depth and Spirit

My work draws from a rich toolkit, adapted to each individual or system. Modalities I weave in include:

  • Gestalt Therapy – Awareness in the present moment to shift patterns in real time

  • Cognitive-Behavioral Tools – Reframing thoughts that limit action

  • Transactional Analysis – Understanding inner roles and rewriting relational scripts

  • Systemic Family Constellations – Healing generational trauma and realigning family dynamics

  • Mind-Body Stress Work – Regulation and integration through the nervous system

But it’s not just techniques that change us. Transformation happens when we apply insight in real time - in your relationships, your choices, your daily life. This is whole-person work where healing and growth move from the inside out.

Who I Work With

I support individuals, couples, families, and groups who are:

  • Ready to break old cycles

This Is Your Time

If you’ve read this far, something in you is stirring - maybe the same kind of quiet knowing that turned me toward this path so many years ago. Maybe now is your time to turn inward. To be witnessed in your fullness. To step into a new chapter - with tools, presence, and partnership that honors both your healing and your becoming. Let’s begin.
